Network access applications manufacturer Datacom Systems has released a new network tap, which has been designed for data centres where space is a premium.
The new network tap is developed for customers in the financial, carrier and cloud provider markets and it will allow clients to access network data and share it with their trading, application and security analysis tools.
The high density tap ensures connectivity to the critical information and provides the ability to collect packet traffic from up to 48 individual fibres or 24 full duplex links in a single rack unit.
The tap also connects to application and security probes, or any type of matrix switch, including Datacom Systems’ Versastream branded series.
Datacom Systems Business Development vice-president Tim Crofton said Datacom Systems’ customers have been building new data centres and asking the company to provide the highest density tap possible.
"Space is at a premium, so the ability to gain visibility to many links in a small space is critical," said Crofton.
