CSC has extended its Business Collaboration suite with the addition of new Advanced Collaboration offering for IBM Lotus.
CSC said the new offering provides business value, adoption, and cost benefits through the company’s Business Consulting practice to IBM Lotus software, and a new Collaboration as a Service (CaaS) offering.
Through the new collaborative offering, organisations can provide managed collaboration platform hosted on site or in a CSC Cloud environment.
The collaboration for the IBM Lotus portfolio offerings include: Lotus Notes/Domino for messaging and groupware rapid application development; and Lotus Sametime for presence awareness, IM and video/voice chat, and Web meeting capabilities.
In addition, the new offering also supports Lotus Connections for enterprise social networking and collaboration; and Lotus Quickr for team- and project-based collaboration tools
The company has also enabled customers to subscribe to any of the IBM Lotus collaboration offerings using the on-demand model.
CSC’s Collaboration as a Service (CaaS) is built on its Cloud platform, which provides flexibility in vendor selection, data security, and implementation and integration services.
The Cloud platform also allows for deployment options in industries or agencies with regulated or secure environmental requirements, by adhering to the standards and certifications available, such as FISMA and ITAR compliance, all hosted in CSC’s SAS 70 Type II, Tier 4+ data centres.
CSC chief technology officer John Glowacki said the company has a long-standing engagement with IBM in providing offerings that can be integrated into a collaboration experience, and they are excited to unveil their new consulting practice and on-demand IBM Lotus service at Lotusphere 2011.
