Cloudmark Exchange Edition uses data generated by SpamNet, the network of 900,000 desktop Cloudmark users. SpamNet creates signatures of spamlike email based on the votes of users who flag incoming mail according to its spaminess.
The software integrates with Exchange via MAPI, the firm said, and can either delete, mark or filter spam it identifies. A 175-employee beta customer said the software caught 98% of spam, 26,000 emails in one and a half months, and had few false positives.
