Cloud.com, a provider of open source cloud computing software, has partnered with RightScale to deliver private cloud infrastructure software for its myCloud product.
As part of the offering, Cloud.com will provide enterprises with a full turnkey private cloud offering that delivers pay-as-you-grow economics. It can be launched in minutes by leveraging existing on-premise hardware to build a private cloud, said the company.
Cloud.com said that organisations can install myCloud on local servers, connect them to the hosted CloudStack Management Server, and realise a fully deployed and automated private cloud in under 30 minutes.
The offering once deployed allows organisations to offer Amazon-like cloud services within the controls of their own data centres, the company claimed.
In addition, with the myCloud-enabled infrastructure connected to the hosted Cloud.com management server, core elements like networking policies, security groups, load balancing and high-availability services are automatically provisioned and managed.
Managing multi-cloud workloads from the RightScale management interface allows customers to extend their Cloud.com private cloud to a hybrid operation, enabling instant capacity-on-demand through cloud-bursting out to public resources, or workload portability between clouds to support application availability and business requirements.
Cloud.com founder and CEO Sheng Liang said private and hybrid cloud computing are the next frontier and as a company they need to ensure their technology is paired with other leading technologies that allow users to easily build, deploy and manage their own clouds.
