Cloud, networking and virtualisation technologies provider Citrix has upgraded its ShareFile app for iPhone, with new enhancements which claimed to simplify file access, share content and securely collaborate from anywhere.

The ShareFile app for iPhone enables secure mobile work styles by providing users with an improved follow-me-data experience while offering IT the management the control needed to secure sensitive corporate data.

The upgraded app now comes with new IT control capabilities to ensure the security of company data when accessed from a mobile device and productivity features for users.

New ShareFile app for iPhone comes includes an unauthorised access alert feature that tracks files viewed in ShareFile for iPhone (and ShareFile for iPad) after a remote wipe is activated, even when the user is offline.

The intelligent device security policies includes a new "poison pill" option that enables IT to set data expiration policies and the multiple preferences settings allow IT adminstrator to decide whether files can be opened in third-party applications or saved offline.

Citrix’s enhanced ShareFile for iPhone connects to Active Directory and SAML enterprise identities for a secure user experience, helps IT to track and log user activity and allows users to save files locally for offline access and editing.

The enhanced app integrates Quickoffice that helps users to edit Microsoft Office documents and save them back to ShareFile. It also includes a redesigned interface that helps in viewing multiple ShareFile accounts and folders.
