The FBI may be closing in on the culprit of the "Fappening" hack of Apple’s iCloud system.

An unsealed search warrant and affidavit regarding the hacking of celebrities accounts revealed that a Chicago man’s house was raided. An IP address was used to trace back to the Chicago address where computers and mobile phones were seized.

Special Agent Josh Sadowsky, of the FBI’s Cybercrimes Unit claiming in the affidavit that the address, "was used to access approximately 572 unique iCloud accounts."

The FBI said that the unique iCloud accounts were accessed 3,263 times, with a number belonging to celebrities involved.

No one has been arrested, or charged in the on-going investigation, which suggests that the seized computers may themselves have been hijacked from another source. It is unlikely that someone capable of carrying out this hack would use their own IP address.
