Carrenza, a provider of cloud Infrastructure (IaaS) and Platform (PaaS), has been selected by the UK Government’s cloud procurement programme, G-Cloud 4.

The London-based company, founded in 2004, will provide infrastructure and cloud hosting services over the next year with the hope of improving costs and services for public sector organisations.

Dan Sutherland, CEO of Carrenza says: "We were first accepted on the G-cloud framework under G-Cloud iii and being selected as a supplier for G-Cloud 4 demonstrates that we are delivering services that are seen to be of benefit to the public sector.

"This is supported by the recent announcement that we were selected as a primary IaaS hosting provider for Gov.uk, one of the government’s flagship services transforming the model of government online publishing."

Carrenza launched new cloud offerings for organisations who intend to move critical application and core business services to the cloud in February 2011.
