Capgemini, a provider of consulting, technology and outsourcing services, said that one of its Dutch subsidiaries Capgemini Outsourcing, has signed a two-year contract extension worth €44m with non-food retailer Maxeda to run until 2015.

The company said that the original deal was a five-year contract between Capgemini and Maxeda signed on December 14, 2007.

The contract extension will involve 170 FTEs and see a major part of the application outsourcing and infrastructure outsourcing services delivered from Indian centres located in Kolkata and Mumbai in addition to Amsterdam in the Netherlands, leveraging Capgemini’s Rightshore global delivery model.

Capgemini said that the contract extension would help Maxeda to reduce its total cost of ownership by 10%. In addition, Capgemini will also provide Maxeda with a flexible cloud-based platform for SAP

applications.

Peter Croes, managing director of Capgemini Outsourcing, said: “Our retail knowledge, our innovation capabilities combined with the fact that we previously managed to realise a return on investment of €2m within a year, created a solid basis to take Maxeda to the next level of our service delivery.”
