BT has launched three new cloud-based solutions to help organisations integrate unified communications and collaboration (UCC) tools and services from several suppliers, promising a "Cloud of Clouds".

The One Cloud video is designed to avoid the traps of video islands that are unable to interconnect. It will simplify scheduling and join video conferences from several platforms and devices.

It an be used via MeetMe video for existing BT MeetMe, Microsoft and mixed video estate customers, or through Cisco collaboration meeting rooms for customers who use WebEx.

One Cloud Microsoft capability will allow BT to support Skype for Business. It brings together the Skype experience with the security, compliance, and control features of Lync

One Cloud Cisco will address the requirements of entrprises that have earlier invested in incompatible voice and desktop technologies. It will bridge the gaps and add advanced collaboration services

BT Global Services vice-president for unified communications and customer relationship management Andrew Small said: "The easy integration of a very diverse range of collaboration services and tools, disparate platforms and multiple devices across fixed and mobile communications is a key building block of our broader ‘Cloud of Clouds’ technology vision.

BT’s Cloud of Clouds vision aims to enable customers to connect securely to the apps and data they require, without the consideration of their presence and base.
