IT Service Management (ITSM) firm BMC Software has released its Remedy OnDemand offering for the government sector.
An ITSM SaaS offering optimised for local, state, federal and public higher-education markets, the BMC Remedy OnDemand offering provides SaaS access to the full power and capabilities of the BMC Remedy IT Service Management Suite (ITSM), the IT service management offering.
BMC Remedy OnDemand for Public Sector is designed to the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), and the low and moderate level security controls are being implemented as summarised in the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication 800-53, Revision 3, for Software-as-a-Service.
In addition, the BMC Remedy OnDemand for Public Sector leverages BMC’s existing ITSM strengths to provide service management everywhere for everyone and its robust management applications enable government agencies to provide high-quality service while containing costs at a time when budgets are constantly under pressure.
Dell is hosting the Remedy OnDemand as part of a comprehensive private cloud IT offering for BMC and is also allying with BMC to resell the Remedy OnDemand for Public Sector offering to public school districts and state and local governments across the country.
BMC Research and Development vice-president Rohit Gupta said understanding the importance of compliance at the service level is critical to success in the government sector.
"BMC Software and Dell understand the stringent security and compliance requirements government agencies must address to adequately manage their IT. Working with government agencies, BMC Remedy OnDemand for Public Sector removes the barriers to SaaS adoption in the government space," said Gupta.
