The battle is heating up in the cloud market music space as both Apple and Google vie for the larger chunk of market.
Apple released its iTunes Match on Monday, while Google is gearing up to launch Google Music on Wednesday.
The search engine major had earlier launched the beta version of Google Music in May. The service is said to allow users to upload up to 20,000 songs to the cloud, which can then be accessed via a maximum of eight devices.
However, iTunes Match promises to save a lot of bandwidth and time in one’s initial synchronisation, because Apple can match songs in one’s iTunes library with ones already available in the iTunes Store. With a repertoire of 20 million tracks for sale on the iTunes Store, there would be not too many unmatched songs getting uploaded to the cloud, say some experts.
Who will clinch the top spot in this cloud music space is anybody’s guess.
