AMD has introduced its Ready Solutions for servers, a collaborative effort with leading server platform manufacturers to provide a broad portfolio of ready-to-market AMD Opteron 6200 Series processor-based motherboards.

These new platforms address market demands and customer requirements for a wide range of server workloads, including high-performance computing (HPC), cloud computing, virtualisation, enterprise and database applications and Web/email servers.

Among the key distributors, ASI, Avnet, Ingram Micro, Supercom and SYNNEX are expected to offer AMD Ready Solutions platforms on day of launch.

AMD Commercial Business corporate vice president and general manager Paul Struhsaker said with AMD Ready Solutions for servers, the customers can find complete and verified server platforms in the channel the day of launch.

"The combination of the existing socket infrastructure already in place with AMD Ready Solutions will enable faster and easier upgrade paths to new levels of server performance and scalability," said Struhsaker.
