Amazon has announced that it is offering unlimited cloud storage with its Amazon Cloud Drive.
Two new storage plans will allow customers to store existing content collections with unlimited storage restrictions. The two paid for plans are, Unlimited Photos for $11.99 per year or Unlimited Everything for $59.99 per year.
This move clearly places Amazon in competition with the likes of Dropbox, Microsoft and Google, all of whom offer various forms of unlimited storage.
Josh Petersen, Director of Amazon Cloud Drive, said: "Most people have a lifetime of birthdays, vacations, holidays, and everyday moments stored across numerous devices. And, they don’t know how many gigabytes of storage they need to back all of them up."
"With the two new plans we are introducing today, customers don’t need to worry about storage space — they now have an affordable, secure solution to store unlimited amounts of photos, videos, movies, music, and files in one convenient place."
The storage plans come with a tempting free 3-month trial, in order to help lure in new customers. Prime and Fire owners will continue to have free photo storage but will have to pay for the unlimited everything option.
