File synchronising and sharing service provider AeroFS has launched a free private cloud solution which will allow up to 30 users to access the AeroFS enterprise file sync and share platform.
According to AeroFS, the offering is likely to breaking new ground for how private cloud services are priced, marketed, delivered, and sold.
The company also highlighted that the platform is fully secure and meets the compliance requirements of their IT departments, as it can be managed from an administrative dashboard and has end-to-end encryption and private certificate authority.
It also facilitates remote revocation and deletion authority if the device is stolen.
The AeroFS private cloud offering will provide unlimited access to the on-premises solution to up to 30 users, with the service presently costing $15 per month per user.
AeroFS CEO Yuri Sagalov said: "Consumer freemium models have given rise to Shadow IT. These models have enticed teams to bring in unauthorized solutions, such as Dropbox, into the workplace because of their desire to skip the usual corporate bureaucracy frustrations associated with purchasing software in a large enterprise.
"By allowing teams and workgroups to deploy AeroFS for free up to 30 users, managers are able to skip cumbersome company purchasing processes that often take months. Instead, they’re able to immediately use a solution the IT department will actually endorse because all data will remain securely behind the corporate firewall."
