Interop’s road show comes to London for the first time ever. Being the major event of London Technology Week 2015, Interop is live in town from June 16 to 18 at the ExCel London, featuring 200 speakers and 100 exhibitors.
With so many exhibitors and events planned, CBR has put together some key events from the conference which are not to be missed.
1. Mobility
The event will cover all spaces of IT including mobility. Sue Daley, Head of Programme Big Data, Cloud and Mobile at techUK, will host a key note sessions on ‘What will enterprise mobility look like in 2020?’ looking at the future of the sector.
The usage of mobile applications in the work place is also growing and changing today’s salesforce. The ‘Mobile applications in the workplace’ session will be headed by Kim Hill, Director, Colleague Platform, Mobile Engineering, Barclays, and discuss the benefits of using such applications in at work.
2. Data centres
Interop has a bit of everything and the world of data centres is not forgotten. Brett Ley, Director, Data centre Sales EMEA at Juniper Networks, will discuss ‘Delivering agile business with open and secure data centre networks’ overlooking how the evolution of the Cloud is creating a much greater demand on the IT department to deliver, support and increasingly drive this change.
Vijoy Pandey, Head of Data Centre Network Engineering at Google will talk ‘Sensors, telemetry and analytics in large data centre networks’ focusing around building scalable software and systems.
3. Internet of Things
Paul Clarke, CTO, Ocado will be hosting a debate on the last day of the event on ‘Where the Internet of Things and Smart Machines Collide’. The CTO will overlook the opportunities generated by IoT and smart M2M technology in healthcare, entertainment, disaster management, smart appliances, smart homes and smart cities.
With security and privacy being an increasing discussion topic in the IoT industry, Dominic Schmidt-Rieche, Sales Manager DACH, AirWatch will take the stage to talk ‘IoT: Securing the New World of Smart, Interconnected Devices’ exploring practical examples of IoT in the enterprise, and how organizations are balancing enablement with privacy and security.
4. Big Data, Analytics & Cloud
Three key areas of today’s industry. Interop will see several experts coming together to discuss the needs, impacts and future of big data, analytics and the cloud.
Two keynotes to attend include ‘The three ways cloud makes enterprise IT more agile and efficient’ led by David Shacochis, VP Cloud Platforms, CenturyLink; and ‘Big Data: Best Practices, Lessons Learnt and Pitfalls to Avoid’ headed by Miss Martha Bennett, Principal Analyst – Business Intelligence, Analytics & Big Data, Forrester.
5. Women in tech
Interop included in its programme several discussions about women in tech. It includes a panel debate on Tuesday on ‘How can we encourage more women into tech?’ moderated by Clare McDonald, Business Editor, Tech Target. Attendants of the session comprise Arabel Bailey, MD Accenture UKI, Digital Lead; Claire Cockerton, Brand Ambassador, Innovate Finance; Jacqueline de Rojas, Citrix; Russ Shaw, Founder, Tech London Advocates; Sarah Luxford, Co-founder, Croydon Tech City; and Wendi Li, Product Manager – Viral Growth, TransferWise.
Another session will debate on ‘Women in Tech Panel : Let’s move the conversation forward’ and will be headed by Trish Pachett, IS Demand Manager, Group I.S Sales and Marketing, Imperial Tobacco. Speakers include Clarice Hilton, Girls Programme Manager , Code First: Girls; Jeffrey Tijssen, Managing Principal, CAPCO; Kjersten Moody, VP Information & Analytics, Unilever; Liz Allen, IT Portfolio Director, Royal Mail Group; Sureyya Cansoy, Director, Tech for Business & Consumer, techUK; and Ursula Morgenstern, CEO for UK & Ireland, Atos.
