Huawei is currently hosting the Huawei Network Congress 2015 in Beijing. A lot of products and announcements are coming out of the event, so CBR rounded up today’s selection.

1. Agile Campus 3.0

Huawei’s Agile Campus 3.0 includes the Ethernet Network Processor-based wi-fi acceleration algorithm, which uses ENP programmable chips to focus on the TCP layer to allow stable network speeds and better user experience. The solution’s wi-fi soft handover technology is intended to support network access in high-speed mobile situations through 600Mbps bandwidth.

Campus 3.0 also brings a 2.5GE access switch and 100GE line card, which aims to address the growth of campus service traffic and traffic peaks from teleconferencing and video conferencing. It also contains the Agile Mobile Solution, which converges wi-fi and LTE networks, allowing enterprises to build a wireless network that supports data and audio communications.

This demonstrates our achievements and capabilities in this area. The Huawei Agile Campus 3.0 solution is an upgrade of the previous versions to support high quality, all-wireless, and ultra-broadband wireless networks."

 

2. Advanced Persistent Threat

The Advanced Persistent Threat solution is designed to protect enterprises’ core information assets. The solution uses Huawei’s Firehunter series of security sandbox products, equipped with reputation system and multilayer inspection technology. In addition is uses the Cybersecurity Intelligent System to provide early warning and protection from APT attacks and the USG6000V series of software firewall products which can be deployed on agile switches.

The company also announced plans for a Cloud Clean Alliance, which will provide real-time cleaning services for denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks worldwide. Partnerships with China Telecom and Qingsong Technology will establish a big data-based cloud Service on Chip (SoC) platform to combine anti-DDoS resources of telecoms operators.

"While the development of Internet of Things (IoT) makes life more convenient, it also amplifies network security threats," said Liu Lizhu, General Manager of the Network Security, Switch and Enterprise Communications Product Line, Huawei. "Due to the lack of authentication and transmission encryption practices, 70% of IoT devices suffer from security vulnerability."

He added: "This has the potential to result in security issues spreading to every corner of our lives. However, the deployment of IoT greatly increases the number of security attack targets, making IoT devices the springboard of APT attacks and target for botnet attacks."

 

3. Cloud Fabric 3.0

Huawei also launched the cloud service-oriented Cloud Fabric 3.0 Architecture, which uses software-defined networking (SDN) technology to support implementation and integration of IT resources. It comprises the Fully-Connected Data Center SDN Solution and the 100G Connection & 25G Access System.

The Fully-Connected Data Center SDN Solution integrates Huawei’s software-defined data centre storage area network with its data centre local area network and data centre interconnect network. Meanwhile, the 100G Connection & 25G Access System increases the interconnection rate of a data centre’s switching network from 10G or 40G to 100G and supports access of 25GE servers.
