Cadam Inc, the Burbank, California computer-aided design software firm owned by Lockheed Corp, has come out with a version of its Professional Cadam for Unix workstations: already available on the IBM RT, it is now also up on Sun Microsystems and Apollo Computer workstations. Portability has been achieved by isolating the hardware-specific portion of the program in a readily modified suite of subroutines called PowerLink. No prices. Cadam has also announced Micro Cadam Plus for 80386 based MS-DOS machines that can address memory beyond the 640Kb limit. It needs 4Mb memory, maths co-processor and a hard disk. Out now, it is $4,000.
