Establishing grounds for an ongoing relationship, Compagnie des Machines Bull SA has announced the worldwide availability of its ISM/OpenMaster enterprise management software suite for Compaq Computer Corp servers and workstations. ISM/OpenMaster is Bull’s distributed integrated management system and security enterprise management product that operates to provide a suite of management and security tools for the management of multi-vendor environments. Bull’s strategy is to sell the software beyond its own hardware user base. Under the terms of the agreement Bull becomes a Compaq Management Partner, while Compaq assumes a spot in Bull’s ISM Partner Program. ISM/OpenMaster provides a centralised system from which hardware and software components can be controlled. Users are presented with a unified view of their enterprise-wide computing resources. To run the Bull product, users must have at least a Compaq Insight Management Agent release 2.60. Existing ISM/OpenMaster users can buy a Compaq compliant license for $1,875, and new users will be charged $13,125.
