BT has unveiled new mobile services for business built on its acquisition of EE, including a cloud-based collaboration service and a new roaming package.
BT announced BT One Cloud mobile, which combines the company’s 4G and fixed networks to provide collaboration services in the cloud to organisations with over 500 employees.
Employees can get access to collaboration tools from their devices outside the office, including voice, messaging, application sharing and presence and conference services.
Included is access to BT Wi-fi, which has more than 5.5 million hotspots. Voice traffic can be routed over the One Cloud network.
Devices using the One Cloud network receive a mobile SIM which allows them to connect either to the EE 4G network, BT Wi-fi or the company’s corporate network.
The end-to-end service is handled through one contract and bill.
“One Cloud transforms the traditional approach to communications by converging several separate services into one and hosting it in the cloud. In doing so, it makes collaboration easy and more consistent,” said Andrew Small, vice president for Unified Communications, Mobile and Contact Centre Portfolio at BT.

BT also announced the One Mobile anywhere product will provide organisations with a fixed roaming tariff to be sharing by all travelling employees.
Business travellers can access 4G in 61 countries including Germany, France, Spain, US, Poland, Belgium, The Netherlands, Saudi Arabia and Hong Kong. They can access 3G in 159 countries.
It is available to all organisations with a UK base of operations.
BT analyses the customer organisation’s usage to decide on a bundle; if usage exceeds this, the plan is automatically upgraded to the next band.

The new services follow BT’s acquisition of mobile network EE, which was completed this year. BT can now combine its own foothold in the business market with EE’s mobile capabilities.
