British Telecommunications Plc and IBM UK Ltd have announced that they are to extend their collaboration on multimedia by making their jointly developed personal computer videotelephony available to other systems including Macintosh and PS/2. The British Telecom hardware conforms to the H.320 international videotelephony standard, and is used with IBM’s Person to Person software. They plan to have their personal computer videophone product out by the third quarter of next year, with expanded Person to Person support following after.
