BBN Communications Ltd has brought the Virtual Domain networking product that it claims will force IBM to rethink its X25 approach to the UK (CI No 1,060): it claims the product, which has a T/100 Host-end Processor, will be able to regain Host/Front End resources, eliminate remote Network Control Programs, and cut overall costs via cheaper hardware, lines and outages, for SNA, non-SNA and non-IBM traffic.
