Avid Technology Inc has gone to Data General Corp’s CLARiiON division for fibre channel storage systems to incorporate into its MeadiaShare F/C product line. Avid, the high-end digital audio and video tools developer which supplies software and hardware to the film and television industry, will incorporate DG’s CLARiiON FC5000 fibre channel disk arrays into MediaShare F/C, its workgroup storage system that enables multiple Avid editors to collaborate on projects from separate workstations without moving large amounts of data around.
