A new partnership between Apple and consulting firm Deloitte will see Apple products being built into enterprise IT consulting projects.

The first of its kind ‘Apple practice’ will include 5000 strategic advisors that will aim to help companies revamp their working practices through IT.

In addition, a new service offering called EnterpriseNext will help customers assess how Apple products include the iPhone and iPad can be used in their industries.

This will include Workshops for iOS which will help customers take iOS-based ideas from prototype to workable solution.

In addition, iOS engineers within Deloitte Digital Studios will help produce native apps for the operating system to integrate with business platforms such as CRM and HR systems.

The alliance is a win for Apple’s enterprise strategy, a market which the technology company has previously addressed through partnerships with providers such as IBM. Apple’s iOS operating system is a widely used mobile platform for business.

iOS
iOS and Android are the dominant platforms, and are competing in the enterprise.

“We know that iOS is the best mobile platform for business because we’ve experienced the benefit ourselves with over 100,000 iOS devices in use by Deloitte’s workforce, running 75 custom apps,” said Punit Renjen, CEO of Deloitte Global.

IPhone
Apple has launched some devices targeted primarily at the enterprise.

“Our dedicated Apple practice will give global businesses the expertise and resources they need to empower their mobile workforce to take advantage of the powerful ecosystem iOS, iPhone, and iPad offer, and help them achieve their ambitions, while driving efficiency and productivity.”
