Santa Clara, California-based Applied Materials Inc has come up with the clever idea of making all technical documentation for its semiconductor fabrication equipment on CD-ROM disks instead of in the form of a book mountain: it says that hardware requirements consist of a standard CD-ROM drive and AT-alike with VGA graphics, or an Apple Macintosh II computer.
