Both companies are pulling together Amdoc’s software products with a range of managed services options based on IBM’s business process transformation order management, IT management, and business process services, and hardware platforms.
On the integration front a key Amdocs product called Enabler 5 and extended billing components have been reengineered to run on IBM’s eServer pSeries (on AIX 5L). Amdocs says it will support future versions of AIX 5L when it releases updated versions of Enabler.
Additionally, Amdocs has also ported its flagship ClarifyCRM 12 platform to the same IBM platform, and also includes a port to IBM’s Universal Database 8 system.
Amdocs has always had a heavy slant towards the telco sector. While the company has grown-up as a CRM vendor, it has in recent years also added billing management software and services to its growing portfolio.
The global relationship also extends to joint sales and marketing efforts. Amdocs named French telco company SFR (Groupe Cegetel SA) as one the first customers to sign up for the joint offering.
