Amdahl Corp wants to be able to offer one-stop shopping to customers of its service and maintenance division that have other vendors’ equipment as well as its own. To that end it has paid $2.5m for loss-making $45m a year Dalworth Holdings Inc. Amdahl says its own services business is profitable on turnover of about $580m and says the acquisition will help it improve margins on multi-vendor hardware and software maintenance.
