Albuquerque-based Epilogue Technology Corp has announced two source code products aimed at companies developing systems to support the Internet Engineering Task Force’s Remote MONitoring – RMON – standard: Ambassador is implemented as Management Interface Bases, which Epilogue says can be incorporated into any SNMP-supported hardware or software device, is written in ANSI C, and is said to be fully-compliant with RFC 1271 and proposed Token Ring extensions. Ambassador Plus is aimed at vendors seeking more complex Remote MONitoring capabilities, and adds support for peak and deviation matrices as well as Relation Matrices. Both are based on core technology from Hermosa Beach, California-based Technically Elite Concepts Inc. A one-time source code licence for Ambassador will be $98,000, while Ambassador Plus is to be $145,000.
