Akamai and Trustwave have partnered on vulnerability assessment, denial of service prevention and incident response.
The first phase of the alliance will include security scanning and testing, DDoS attack protection, incident response and readiness, and web applications security enhanced by Trustwave’s WAF portfolio.

Stuart Scholly, senior VP for the Security Business Unit at Akamai, said: "[We are] providing an even greater level of preparation and protection backed by the global, industry-leading managed security services from Trustwave."
According to Trustwave’s 2014 Global Security Report, 96% of applications harbored one or more serious security vulnerabilities.
Akamai added that the Q1 2015 set a record for the number of DDoS attacks recorded on the company’s Prolexic network.
