Adobe Systems Inc has announced its new video editing system, Adobe Premiere 5.0 aimed at the needs of broadcasters, web and multimedia authors. It features a new user interface, new high end editing tools that enable the user to carry out three point editing, slip and slide and keyframe audio and video filters, and added hardware and software support. Premiere supports Apple Quicktime 3.0 and Microsoft DirectShow. In addition it offers enhanced support for capture card profiles and Edit Decision List export capabilities. It offers compatibility across Windows 95, NT and Power Macintosh systems so users can share files in mixed system environments. The product is due out in June.
