Acer Inc’s Singapore-based Acer Computer International independent marketing and distribution unit has a memorandum of understanding to form a joint venture with India’s largest information technology company, Wipro Infotech Group for the sales, marketing and manufacture of Acer computers, peripherals and related equipment in India. They will also establish a design centre for software development and hardware exports. The new company will be 55% held by Wipro Ltd, and 45% by Acer Computer International; it intends to market under the name Wipro-Acer.
