Accton Technology Corp, based in San Jose, California, cut the prices across its entire hardware product range by up to 45% from March 1. The largest savings are on the company’s Ethernet switching hub line – the eight-port SwitchHub-8s, for example, drops by $1,300 to $1,700 – while prices on its network interface boards are being cut by an average of 30%. The company says that the big price reductions have been made possible by economies of scale.
