The company claims that small, wirelessly networked radio frequency identification (RFID) sensors can monitor machines and equipment to detect possible problems and deliver safety features within oil wells. For example, if oil becomes trapped in different layers of rock, along with gas and water, RFID sensors could be used to detect specific liquids and assist equipment in operating within a specific moment to prevent the occurrence of adverse conditions.

Vinoble also believes that RFID can provide a safe transit of materials by the authorized handler only and limit the entry of personnel to specific locations. It added that it may also be useful in assisting the customer’s supply chain by tracking oil, gas and chemical products.
