Universal Insurance will use EasyLink’s service to digitize, store and index faxed insurance documents related to underwriting and policy administration. The service will offer an easy to use document image database and secure web viewer that will store documents and allow customer service representatives to search using specific indices.

As a result, Universal will be able to link manual processes, such as fax, and an automated backend system, without mandating new procedures to their agent community.

Universal says that by implementing the services, it was able to put an automated workflow process into its daily operations in less than four months, while saving costs related to forms processing and document storage.
