Brian McCarthy, the president of Automation Software Inc, a Farmington Hills, Michigan manufacturing software company, was found murdered in Mexico, a day after he was kidnapped at a rest stop where he and a business associate had pulled over, by bandits demanding ransom: the associate was then ordered to get money according to unidentified authorities but was unharmed; authorities said McCarthy was in Mexico seeking business; the FBI is trying to determine if any US laws were broken as in some instances crimes against US citizens abroad can be prosecuted in the US; McCarthy was married and had three children.
