Anaheim, California-based General Automation Inc, where Sanderson Electronics Plc of Sheffield is the dominant shareholder, has shut its German subsidiary, resulting in a write-off of about $500,000 for the year to September 30. It also agreed for its European operating subsidiary to be acquired by a newly-formed company, Eurosystems GA Ltd, which will also acquire Eurosystems Group of Cos, the third party maintenance provider and reseller of IBM Corp equipment. Eurosystems GA will acquire the General Automation units in France, Belgium and Italy and Eurosystems units in Germany, France and Belgium. The new group will be headquartered in the UK, where trading operations are also planned to be established.
