Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Concerto Software said it anticipates in excess of $250 million in annual revenue following the merger, up from current sales of $160 million.

Rockwell FirstPoint Contact was founded in 1973 and employs over 450 staff worldwide. Like Concerto Software, it concentrates on the SMB area, competing against the likes of CosmoCom, Interactive Intelligence, and Aspect.

Westford, Massachusetts-based Concerto provides IP-enabled interaction software infrastructure for small to medium-sized contact centers. The acquisition of Rockwell FirstPoint Contact, a competitor and former partner, will allow it to expand its geographic reach and its overall market position. Following the merger, Concerto will have 1,000 employees and 2,000 customers in 41 countries. Rockwell FirstPoint president Terry Murphy will join Concerto as executive VP of corporate development.

Westford, Massachusetts-based Concerto was formed in January 2002 as the result of the merger of Davox Corp. and Cellit Inc. It has been an acquisitive company since then, having purchased the assets of Melita International Ltd. in February in a deal worth approximately $145.2 million. Then in April it acquired CenterForce Technologies, whose software was used to manage and rate the performance of call center operators. In early August, it acquired the assets of Positive Software Systems Inc. for an undisclosed sum.
