San Jose, California-based Compass Design Automation Inc has developed a tight interface to the Comdisco Systems Signal Processing WorkSystem for design and implementation of signal processing, application-specific integrated circuits and application-specific standard products: the new interface, available as an option to the Navigator tool suite, links the Worksystem with the Compass Datapath Synthesiser and Datapath Compiler tools to form a complete signal processing design system, enabling designers to start by architecting, simulating, and optimising at the system level using the Worksystem and then create chips from these system-level architectures down to dense physical implementations using the Compass software; Comdisco Systems is in process of being sold to Cadence Design Systems Inc by Comdisco Inc.
