Last week CA said it woud pay $375m in an all-cash takeover of privately held Wily Technology and its J2EE application management software.

The Control-F1 toolset is used to automate a variety of service desk remote diagnosis and self-service repair processes, various call management routines, and some self-heal technologies that are designed to diagnosis and repair processes on the fly, before they disrupt end users or critical IT services.

SupportBridge comprises the three components of Live Automation, Self Service Automation, and Self Healing Automation, which sit aside the SupportBridge Server platform which manages workflow and supports automation analytics.

Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed, but is has been confirmed that the company will be managed as part of the new business service optimization division of CA headed by Jacob Lamm, and is seen as adding another element to the portfolio of products and services being branded by CA as its EI or Enterprise IT Management suite.

Founded in 1999, venture-backed Control-F1 is said to have over 80 customers, most of which are likely already to be CA accounts. It was already a CA business partner.
