Western Digital has expanded its My Book line of storage systems by introducing My Book Studio Edition II with a 4 terabyte capacity, targeting Mac users. The company has already introduced 2TB hard drives earlier.

The company said that the new drive is compatible with Apple Time Machine and formatted for Mac computers. Its interfaces are designed to help creative professionals, workgroups, small offices and anyone who are looking for data transfer.

Dale Pistilli, vice president of marketing at WD’s branded products group, said: With 4TB of capacity, photographers, graphic artists, videographers and home video enthusiasts alike will have the space they need to store high definition videos as well as the performance they need for demanding video editing applications.

The system reportedly offers four interfaces: eSATA, FireWire 800, FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 and its hard drives come with WD’s GreenPower Technology.

The new drive comes with a 5-year limited warranty and is priced at an estimated $650.
