The virtualisation software arm of enterprise systems management vendor Quest Software Inc known as Vizioncore has come out with a bundle of tools to support small businesses switching to VMware’s vSphere, adding backup, high availability and disaster recovery features to the virtual infrastructure platform.

Vizioncore produces a range of data protection and management software for virtualised environments and with the new Vizioncore SMB Data Protection Pack is targeting smaller deployments with an offering that includes licences for six CPUs, equivalent to the VMware vSphere Essentials license.

It has produced a couple of primary bundles, which are called Vizioncore vRanger Pro for data protection and Vizioncore vControl for high availability, while the second bundle adds Vizioncore vReplicator for offsite disaster recovery replications.

Vizioncore’s suite of virtualisation management tools stretches across the lifecycle and addresses conversion and deployment of VMs with vConverter, disaster recovery and high availability with vRangePro, it has Foglight Pro for monitoring VMs, and Optimiser Pro that handles system optimisation procedures.

All of its products are intended to add value to the available hypervisor platforms, and some of the features on offer do overlap with some of the basic functionality that comes with those platforms.
