Private cloud hosting and managed services provider ScaleMatrix has deployed CA Technologies’ ARCserve to support its managed data security service that protects more than 100 terabytes of customer data for disaster recovery.

ScaleMatrix’s data security managed service integrates CA ARCserve with cloud storage applications and an appliance-based application to provide data availability at an affordable cost.

In addition, the company will use the CA ARCserve to replicate its own systems and data between its San Diego and Texas data centres to mitigate the impact of power outages or natural disasters similar to that happed last year when company’s south Texas infrastructure suffered a series of prolonged power outages.

The company will also use the CA AppLogic cloud platform to support its private cloud services.

The CA AppLogic cloud platform allows ScaleMatrix to establish and scale services quickly to meet customer demand.

ScaleMatrix has integrated several other applications, including CA ARCserve, to create pre-defined services that can be provisioned with CA AppLogic’s drag and drop interface.

ScaleMatrix marketing director James Heller said it has selected the CA Technologies applications as they are scalable, easy to configure and integrate and require minimal support.

"They enable us to help organizations bring new services to market faster, comply with regulations and get more from their IT budgets," Heller said.
