PerkinElmer, a provider of health solutions, has extended its partnership with infrastructure software provider TIBCO Software to provide scientists with new data visualisation tools.

The company, which joined forces with Tibco a year ago, will exclusively resell TIBCO’s research and development applications on the TIBCO channel.

The applications include clinical trials and research on people to determine the safety of medications, devices, diagnostic products and treatment regimens.

PerkinElmer, which has 7,500 employees in more than 150 countries, said the alliance would help address applications that provide out-of-the-box functionality and improve collaboration between its discovery research and clinical development.

Mike Stapleton, general manager of informatics at PerkinElmer, said: "Through this expanded strategic relationship, we are very excited to offer scientists a complete package of data generation, data management, plus data analysis and visualisation, so they can better harness information for more informed insights and decisions in the clinical space."

Matt Quinn, CTO at TIBCO, added: "Joining forces strengthens our vertical industry focus on pharmaceuticals and biotech – as well as many others – while giving TIBCO the means and capacity to focus on, and successfully invest in, expansion into other verticals and horizontals."

TIBCO Software’s social networking platform, Tibbr, recently teamed up with collaboration startup Huddle, allowing users to share and manage content in real-time.
