Under the partnership, Beijing Futong, a distributor and the chief agent of IBM China, will sell and support ONStor’s clustered network-attached storage solutions, including the recently released Cougar 6000 series.

Designed with n-way clustering, support for open storage, file server virtualization, and advanced power management, ONStor’s Cougar and Bobcat clustered network-attached storage gateways deliver a content storage solution for the management of unstructured data. ONStor’s file storage products offer up to 95% power savings compared to traditional direct-attached and networked storage environments, said ONStor.

Chen Jian, chairman of Beijing Futong, said: Beijing Futong is committed to working with vendors who provide solutions with a clear value-add for our customers and we believe that ONStor represents a great addition to our portfolio. With ONStor’s heterogeneous storage virtualization, IT departments can leverage their existing storage infrastructure while also benefiting from the consolidation and energy efficiency that advanced technology like ONStor’s offers.

Bob Miller, CEO of ONStor, said: ONStor is honored that Beijing Futong has agreed to the formalization of this alliance. Beijing Futong has a successful track record in the region and has been instrumental in offering advanced technologies and services to businesses covering all major industries for more than two decades.
