Networked storage provider Infortrend along with STEC, a supplier of solid-state drives (SSD), have joined forces to advance SSD technology through Infortrend’s ESVA (Enterprise Scalable Virtualized Architecture) F60 storage offerings.

STEC said that the combination of its enterprise features of ZeusIOPS SSD and Infortrend’s F60 Fibre Channel (FC) to SAS storage systems enables users to achieve superior, reliable performance for their applications.

The company claimed that the integration of the ZeusIOPS Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) SSD enhances Infortrend’s ESVA F60-2830 by advancing the IO performance of the systems in a scalable manner.

Scott Stetzer, vice president of technical marketing at STEC, said: "SSDs are one of the best solutions available for users requiring high-performance storage.

"By partnering with Infortrend, a well-known storage expert, STEC is laying the groundwork for the introduction of enterprise-class SSDs into the worldwide market."
