It said BusinessObjects XI 3.0 offers integrated text analysis, enabling text from unstructured sources such as the web and emails to be incorporated into BI and decision-making. It also provides BI-ready consumable external information on demand.

XI 3.0 includes a new query tool called Polestar that is designed to work as easily as a consumer internet engine. It also offer Xcelsius 2008 for users to create interactive, shareable dashboards, while Crystal Reports 2008 embeds Flash and Flex to improve usability and the ability to integrate reports with business processes.

Business Ojects said XI 3.0 includes advanced support for BI federation, allowing it to deliver custom BI deployments while maintaining global consistency. It also provides a capability for organizations to combine multiple, departmental deployments into a single, enterprise-wide BI framework without disrupting existing systems.

Marge Breya, executive vice-president, business intelligence platform at Business Objects, said: Every person in an organization can now have trusted and immediate access to business information, just as easily as they do to the internet.

BusinessObjects XI 3.0 will be available in from first quarter of 2008.
