Enterprise Web 2.0 tools just released from a company called Bluenog could help non-technical users create, manage and collaborate in the development of secure enterprise wikis.
The latest version 4.5 of Bluenog’s ICE (for Integrated Collaborative Environment) is built on pre-integrated open source collaboration projects and draws on the JSPWiki software that is used principally in company intranets.
The toolset combines content management, collaboration, business intelligence and portals through common and secure services. It is said to help employees to create content-driven web applications which can be easily integrated with existing enterprise and legacy systems.
“ICE 4.5 aggregates functionality from over a dozen popular open source projects into a single commercial product, with additional integration and features, all supported by Bluenog,” the New Jersey-based company said. This eliminates any need for developers to manually code security permission features and such like.
The enterprise Wiki that can be built using Bluenog is stored in a secure, enterprise-wide repository, so that all Wiki pages can be readily searched, with access permissions defined at the Wiki and page level. ICE 4.5 also introduces an enterprise group calendaring application based on the widely used open source project, Bedework.
Bluenog ICE 4.5 is available via annual subscription and includes 9 x 5 support.
