The revamped search option is expanding beyond Facebook likes, photos and profile information that relate to searches.
Bing search will now show five times more content from Facebook friends.

"Starting today, five times more of your friends’ content on Facebook is searchable in the sidebar – including status updates, shared links, comments and photos from your friends," said Derrick Connell, corporate vice president at Bing. "The addition of status updates, shared links and comments to the sidebar, it’s now easier to see who knows and what they’ve shared related to your search. So when your friends aren’t around, Bing is the perfect stand-in."

The new three column design will show photos, links and comments from friends that relate to searches.

The Bing search bar will also show advice from experts from other social media platforms like Twitter Foursquare, Quora, Klout and Google +.

The new design has also removed the need to hover over a friend or expert to see additional content.

Bing asserts, however, that users will only be able to search what their friends allow them to see.

"Bing also puts you in control of your search experience," said the company. We honour all of your existing Facebook privacy settings, nothing is shared automatically, you only see what your friends give you permission to see so you only share what you want to share."
