Actuate has released ActuateOne, a new product suite that helps develop and deploy custom Business Intelligence (BI) applications and information applications.

ActuateOne is based upon one design, one server and one user experience to improve developer productivity, and deploy from on-premises to the cloud.

Applications based on ActuateOne deliver information from any data source, including high volume print streams, and present it to end users for maximum productivity.

ActuateOne includes release 11 of Actuate’s value-added products for the Eclipse BIRT open source project, including the new version of BIRT iServer.

The foundation of ActuateOne is the open source BIRT design which is the core of the Eclipse BIRT open source project.

The company said that ActuateOne allows a BIRT design to: access and integrate data from multiple disparate sources; generate interactive dashboards, analytics and web content; deliver interactive data visualisations; include analysis ready in-memory datasets; be comprised of reusable library components; provide the basis for dashboards, user defined gadgets and KPIs; and support generating live Excel documents, Word files, PowerPoint presentations, PDF and XML.

ActuateOne transforms any BIRT design, including open source BIRT designs, into interactive information, suitable for any user.

It provides within one user context: BIRT-based, in-memory analytics; interactive web output; ad-hoc reporting; flash widgets for data visualisation; live Excel from BIRT output; and operational and analytic dashboards.

ActuateOne includes BIRT iServer to manage deployments on-premises or to private, public and hybrid cloud environments.

Actuate’s new BIRT iServer release 11, includes Elastic Clustering, the ability to dynamically and automatically reassign, add or remove a stateless image of BIRT iServer within a cluster without interrupting operations.

It also includes a work unit licensing model intended to offer flexibility for multi-core, server farm and cloud environments.

Actuate said that its release 11 overcomes concerns around data management in the cloud by making it simple to design and deploy analytic data sources and allowing migration of aggregated, multidimensional data structures to support applications in any virtualised environment.

iServer supports multi-tenant deployments and allows complete flexibility in how multi-tenancy is managed, configured, secured and preserved.
