AAA Allied Group, a mid-sized American Automobile Association club, has chosen the Tableau product suite to enable its business line analysts to create reports, data visualizations and business dashboards.
According to Tableau Software, AAA Allied Group is deploying Tableau Desktop for several of its business analysts and Tableau Server for managers, supervisors and other employees. The live, interactive reports, visualizations and business dashboards created by the business analysts will be embedded in AAA Allied Group’s SharePoint portal.
Tableau Software claims that Desktop data visualization software connects directly to a wide assortment of data sources allowing people to understand complex relationships through engaging and easy-to-understand reports, business dashboards and visualizations. Tableau Server extends the functionality of desktop to the web, enabling entire organizations to share, discover and participate with their data via a web browser.
Christian Chabot, CEO of Tableau, said: AAA Allied Group recognized that old-fashioned business intelligence (BI) software requires too many specialized developers. The old approach costs more and takes longer to get results. By enabling their business analysts to create dashboards and visualizations themselves, AAA Allied Group is getting better results at a fraction of the cost and time of legacy BI.
