Twitter’s management turmoil and fall in stock value has reportedly helped ride services Lyft and Uber to poach key Twitter employees.

The ride sharing companies have poached top engineering managers to personalise their own apps.

Since January 2014, around 25 Twitter employees, including top managers such as Raffi Krikorian, have joined Uber.

Around 15 Twitter employees including senior managers and engineers like Peter Morelli ditched the micro blogging site for Lyft.

The ride sharing companies are hiring Twitter employees because they have data skills that can be extremely useful for the taxi hailing companies for customising experiences within their apps.

The recruiting process is becoming cut throat in Silicon Valley, as start-ups are becoming billion dollar companies and service providers like Lyft and Uber are hiring as they look to go public.

Apart from drivers, Lyft has ramped up the number of employees by adding more than 70% since the start of 2015, and Uber has added around 1,000 employees over the past year.

Reuters cited tech recruiting firm Dave Partners CEO Dave Carvajal as saying that the employees are getting attracted to ride-sharing companies because the companies are aiming to change the transportation industry, in a similar way how Twitter changed modern day communication.
